Basil Honey Walnut Gelato



Enjoy this homemade gelato, which has a great mix of sweet honey, earthy basil, and crunchy walnuts. It's a cool and unique dessert that will make your mouth water.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh basil leaves
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Instructions:

Put the heavy cream and whole milk in a saucepan

Place it over medium-low heat and stir it every now and then until it starts to simmer

Take it off the heat and stir in the honey until it's all mixed in

Cover and let it sit for 30 minutes

Then add the chopped basil leaves

Put the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean bowl

Press down on the basil leaves to get all the flavor out of them

Put the mixture in the fridge with the lid on for at least 4 hours or overnight until it is cold

After the mixture has been chilled, use an ice cream maker according to the directions that came with it

In the last few minutes of churning, add the walnuts that have been chopped

Put the gelato in a container and freeze it for at least 4 hours, or until it's firm

If you want, you can serve the basil honey walnut gelato with chopped walnuts or fresh basil leaves on top
